Saucepan – a saucepan is bigger than a milk pan and has a lid. These are general purpose pans, and will probably be the most used pans in your kitchen.
Skillet / Frying Pan – Skillets or frying pans are very useful, and can be used for a wide variety of uses, from frying onions or eggs, to making pancakes. If you’re looking to eat more healthily, having a good quality frying pan will also mean that you don’t need as much oil.
Sauté Pan – Similar to a frying pan, a sauté pan cooks at a very high heat, and the food you are cooking is constantly moving, rather than remaining still. For the best results you’ll need a pan with a thick bottom, so that the heat spreads properly to cook your food evenly.
